Bongi Kasiki Bongi Kasiki was born on 29 October 1965 in Dirico, Angola. Her family were in servi- ce for a Portuguese family. She came to Schmidtsdrift in South Africa via Omega in Namibia in 1990. She never went to school but is now taking part in adult education. She taught herself sewing and machine stitching and is trying to raise her four children with this textile work. Together with Andry Kashivi she joined the Art Project in 1996. Her works are highly influenced by her love for textiles. Her colourful patterns allow one to imagine the wonderful materials that made them. She enjoys working with oils the most. Her artwork
